Momentum Worldwide is searching for a Sailor Jerry Brand Ambassador in San Francisco, CA. 

SUMMARY: The Sailor Jerry Brand Ambassador is responsible for the implementation and execution of on and off premise programs as well as account-based brand development for Sailor Jerry. They are also responsible for developing relationships/partnerships with key distributor personnel, trade, and consumers within their assigned territory. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: identifying distribution opportunities, communicating account-level information to William Grant and Sons (WGS) and distributor sales reps, executing events, and growing Sailor Jerry within key on-premise and retail accounts. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring flawless execution of programs within accounts as well as be responsible for ensuring distribution and KPI (key performance indicators) achievement within target accounts.  This role reports into Momentum and will work with the guidance of the WGS Regional Manager.

The Sailor Jerry Brand Ambassador will be charged with driving brand awareness, advocacy & passion across consumers & the trade to grow the SJ Rum business in their respective market. The ambassador will exemplify the brand values, understand & connect with the Sailor Jerry subculture & captivate all audiences to embrace the brand. 
 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Brand Education
  • Act as local brand champion for Sailor Jerry.  Communicate brand information to local distributors, trade, and consumers.
  • Review history, tasting profiles and key selling points
  • Conduct competitive tastings with key on-trade staff
  • Distributor Ride Withs and Distributor Training
  • Account Sell-In and Management
  • Work with local distributor team as well as WGS Division Marketing/Regional Manager and local sales managers on account selection for on and off premise promotions and overall distribution targets.Build relationships with on key accounts, on premise and off premise, that fit Sailor Jerry’s brand profile
  • Sell in product with distributor sales rep or WGS sales manager (depending on market) and follow up to ensure account orders and receives it
  • Help manage and allocate local POS inventory
  • Track budgets by account and type of spend; stay within allocated brand budgetSell in on-premise promotions to accounts that fit Sailor Jerry’s brand profile
  • Consumer Off-premise tasting events
  • Consumer Engagement, Events, Sponsorships, Trial and Loyalty programs
  • Work independently and with the SJ Brand Team, the local sales team & Momentum to identify & execute consumer programs to drive brand awareness, trial & loyalty. This includes:
  • Identify, develop & execute programs across product seeding, sponsorship & events to engage key influences (Consumer, trade, & media) on the Sailor Jerry brand story & rum.Manage full execution of specified SJ events.Develop & execute consumer sampling programs in market in line with national plan.Work with Junior Field Operatives to ensure alignment with brand and programs goals.


KPI Achievement
Increase distribution & sales growth within key accounts. 
Identify premium positions for WGS Sailor Jerry through: 

  • Back bar placement
  • Menu placements
  • Signature drinks
  • Featured promotional activity
  • POS placement
  • Wait staff trainings
     

Reporting:

Provide regular and on-going recaps of activity to WGS Division Marketing Manager, Sales Managers and key distributor personnel

Complete Brand Tracker detailing accounts visited, accounts sold, back-bar placements made, menu placements made, etc. as requested

Provide recommendations against the target account list and update as needed with new account openings, new opportunities, etc.

Competitive tracking – reporting on competitive activity and watching for market trends
 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three-five years experience in a related Wine & Spirits role and 1 year within the assigned market
  • Proven track record of success increasing sales volumes within target accounts
  • Knowledge of local on/off premise spirits market, including local laws & statutes
  • Ability to prioritize and juggle many tasks as well as work within prescribed timelines and deadlines
  • Self-starter, outgoing personality
  • Adept at selling and interacting with diverse groups of people
  • Strong written, verbal and public speaking skills
  • Strong budget management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Web-based reporting tools
  • Clean driving record and proof of automotive insurance
  • Position contingent upon successful completion of background check
